Assessment: Student pairs will be assigned to give feedback to the group’s unit presentation when it becomes viewable online. Example: group 1 will grade group 2, group 2 will grade group 3, etc. making it important the pair grading is aware of the group’s unit they are grading so that they can be sure to pay extra special attention of the unit’s lessons while it’s being presented by the teachers, so as to grade their peers fairly. A rubric covering the basic work of doing the video podcast, uploading it to the wiki, professionalism, inclusion of pictures, tour info, and learned information will be used by both the student graders and me.

Unit Plan: Health Academy Preparation for Learning.
Duration: 1-2 weeks after a pair of student’s Health Occupation unit is covered.
Objective: For each pair of current students in the Health Academy Health Occupations class to prepare a podcast, preferably video podcast, about a given chapter of study for the Health Academy wiki site viewing of what was learned/toured/covered.
Materials needed: Computer with audacity program or other podcasting program
Headset with microphone, or IPod ear buds and microphone
Digital camera with cables to connect to computer for upload and scanner possibly
Notes, work, handouts, photos, and other student learning from student’s given unit
State Standards:
Procedures: Create a video podcast that discusses your given unit of study (example unit 2 Health Care Systems). The creation of this podcast is for the community and upcoming Health Academy students to view on the website to understand what the unit entailed. Highlight the tours and guest speakers (use of photos) as well as work, reflecting on what was learned.
